Susie! This was a fascinating account of your wonderful journey. The connections you made were amazing…I can imagine.that you were not expecting to find so much family history awaiting you, relatives with open arms and your same curiosity and appreciation for where and who you all came from. Knowing your mother for so long made it even more special for me to read and I loved seeing the precious photos of her as a young child. Thank you for sharing this so beautifully written story and I look forward to spending more time hearing about it with Elena!

Hello Susan,

What a delightful story! We were able to make a similar trip many years ago to the Welsh town my father-in-law grew up in, and saw the home he was born in, as it is now part of a Slate Mining Museum. We connected with numerous cousins and heard countless stories. It meant the world to our family and I too, think of it often.

By the way, I will be in DC in early October and would love to see you!
